  • Details:  A gorgeous silent butler with an ornate engraved pattern that includes Peacocks, Urns and lots of florals and swirls.  The handle and top have cut outs that add to the beauty of this piece. These became very popular in the 60's, not only for collecting crumbs at the table but with the allure of smoking of that era, they were used to collect ashes, keep ashtrays clean while guests were visiting.  This piece retains its original label that reads: "Horchow, Made in Japan."  A beautiful addition to your well appointed dinner table, bar or game room, perfect for your table to collect crumbs, even if you don't use it, it's an added accent piece and touch of class and nostalgia.

  • Dimensions:  Approx. 6.25 inches Long and 6.0 inches Wide (at its widest point)
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Very Good Condition.  There are a few scrapes and scratches, all on the bottom, acceptable due to age/use/wear.  Otherwise, there are no chips, cracks or peeling silver.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are ANTIQUE and VINTAGE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show scratches, wear and tear and imperfections. 

The Horchow brand was started by Samuel Roger Horchow.  Born in Cincinnati Ohio, on July 3, 1928.  As a young man, he went to work for Nieman Marcus, and after 10 years he branched out on his own.  In 1971 he founded the Horchow Collection, a pioneer in the area of mail-order catalogs, and built an empire selling luxury goods like jewelry, housewares, furniture, clothes, etc.  He built a highly successful business and well respected brand and in 1998, he sold it to Neiman Marcus.  He used the money to indulge his love of music and the theater.  He became a producer and received a Tony award for his musical, “Crazy for You,”  The retailer, turned Broadway producer, died at home in Dallas on May 2, 2020, he was 91 years old.
